As a Methodist who is a lectionary preacher I've found this to be a solid resource for sermon prep. Even when I don't agree with a particular theological stance, the commentary provides food for thought. I believe that is the mark of a good lectionary resource, it aids one in reflecting on the scripture and perhaps gives pause for a nuance that you haven't viewed. The lay out is very user friendly and if you are liturgical I'd highly recommend the worship companion texts as well. In this era of digital media I am pleased that it is being released in hard copy and e-book formats. The worship companion hard copy had an enclosed CD-ROM which is a nice addition.

The Feasting on the Word are excellent resources for pastors---Theology, Pastoral, Exegetical and Homiletic viewpoints are covered usually offering new insights and from varying perspectives which I appreciate. It would be helpful to have the material organized differently rather than hopping from one page to another to the appropriate column just to read each category. I hope that each book is offered on Kindle---more are being offered and it is wonderful to read it on the ipad. Thank you!

Love these commentaries and kindle version shows well. Only problem is that the Year A,B,C and Volume number are near impossible to read on the cover view which makes finding which one you need quite the annoying task.

It's especially helpful for those of us who don't preach that often. With the number of reflections written for each Sunday of the liturgical calendar it carries a broad range of ideas to use when trying to start a homily or sermon. Well worth the money. I'll be purchasing each volumn as needed.

I am a seminary trained pastor, almost finished my Ph.D., that also has a full time day job. This year C is the first time I am following the lectionary. I am a Baptist and it is not part of our tradition. This resource has been invaluable. The format is amazing and you get four well written articles on each specific passage. I truly enjoy this book and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I use this series almost every time I preach. Provides some very good exegesis and preaching foci, often giving some truly insightful links to the world today. My only criticism is that there is not much social context information on the text, e.g. how might a contemporary crowd have laughed when hearing the tale of Jonah or might 1st century Judeans have interpreted a shepherd leaving a whole herd to search for one lost lamb to make sense or be ridiculous.

When I am stuck during sermon preparation whether it be a obscure scipture text or the need for a new perspective on a frequently used one, this book unsticks me. It also gives new perspectives during scripture study, providing a more indepth study time.

Excellent resource for all preachers. Four approaches for each lesson. Highly recommend.
